Javier Gasman - Founding Partner, he is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, began his practice in 2009 as legal counsel to the Chilean National Professional Football Association (ANFP).
In late 2010, he joined the prestigious boutique law firm Mackenna, Irarrázabal, Cuchacovic & Paz, focusing his practice in corporate, civil and labor matters.
Subsequently, he joined Spoerer & Valdés Abogados to be in charge of, among other matters, the legal counseling of Club Deportivo Universidad Católica - Cruzados SADP. Such experience gave Javier Gasman the knowledge and prestige within the Chilean soccer industry.
In October 2017 he founded Gasman Abogados, which is exclusively dedicated to the sports industry. Since then, he has participated and advised several clubs in a wide range of sports and business activities.
In addition, Javier has a strong presence in the area of entertainment, content and sale of commercial and broadcasting rights. Since 2017, he has been the General Counsel to 1190 Sports, the company that markets the commercial rights of the Chilean National Soccer Team, developing the protection program for branding and fighting ambush marketing to protect the rights of “La Roja” name under which the Chilean national soccer team is known.
Currently, he is also the Head of Program and Professor of the “Sports Law and Management” Diploma at the Law School of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Professor of the Diploma in Soccer Law at Universidad de Los Andes.

Diego Iturriaga - Senior Associate, he is a lawyer from Universidad de Chile. He also attended -with outstanding results-, for half a year during his studies, the University of California, Berkeley, after having been awarded a place to participate in the Education Abroad Program (EAP).
He worked as an assistant professor of Procedural Law at Universidad de Chile, where he graduated suma cum laude. In 2019, he was granted the title of Attorney at Law from the Supreme Court.
In addition to his strictly legal studies, he studied a Master of Liberal Arts at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and a Diploma in Public Policy at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
As to his legal practice, Diego did an internship in national and international arbitration at Bofill, Mir & Álvarez Jana Abogados. Early 2017, he joined Carey & Cía., where he worked as an associate attorney for three years and a half, with his practice focused on labor and criminal matters. During this period, he was a member of a sports law study group, and published -as a co-author- the booklet entitled “The Impacts of COVID-19 on the Labor Relations of Professional Soccer Players”.
He has broad experience in the field of corporate and judicial counseling, in which he has represented companies that lead the markets in telecommunications, technological innovation, energy generation and the provision of private security.
He joined Gasman & Cía. in September 2020, where he has been fully incorporated in the multiple consultancies carried out by our firm.

Eduardo Carlezzo - Foreing Partner, is the founding partner of Carlezzo Advogados, began his practice in 2002, in the city of Porto Alegre, in an economic consulting firm, working on subjects related to tax and corporate planning. In the corporate sphere, he advised on many merger and acquisition transactions, acting also as counsel in some antitrust cases.
The experience in business law gave Eduardo Carlezzo the ability to see business in a more comprehensive and strategic way, favoring his activities in the sports market, an industry to which he began to dedicate himself exclusively in 2004, when he founded Carlezzo Advogados in the city of São Paulo.
In the same year, he launched the first legal book aimed at dealing exclusively with the relationship between sports and the business segment, entitled “Sports Business Law”, which deals, among other aspects, with the transformation of soccer clubs into companies.
Since then, he participates and provides advice on a wide range of activities and businesses in sport, ranging from advice to athletes and clubs, to agents, companies, sponsors and federations, among others.
Eduardo has a strong presence in South American soccer, advising soccer clubs from several countries, as well as representatives and athletes in national and international transfers of players.
Currently, a large part of his legal practice is focused on international issues related to proceedings before FIFA, UEFA, Conmebol and the Court of Arbitration for Sport. He participated in some of the most relevant cases in South American soccer in recent years, such as:
Eduardo actively participated in the creation of “Primeira Liga” (an independent league composed of Brazilian soccer clubs of the A and B series) during 2015. He has been its General Counsel ever since.
Combining technology with sport, Eduardo has acted in the representation of clients in transactions related to the gaming industry and its competitions, in addition to advising foreign sports betting companies in their insertion in the Brazilian market.
Year after year, Eduardo has been appearing in the main international rankings of attorneys acting in sports law, among them “Who's Who Legal: Sports Entertainment”.
